Film on Indian Alumni of Peoples Friendship University of Russia

A film on Indian alumni of the Peoples Friendship University of Russia (PFUR) is in progress. And its details have emerged during the deliberation of a meeting hosted by the Russian Centre of Science and Culture (RCSC) on September 9, 2012 between the Delhi Alumni Association of Soviet/Russian Academic Institution (DAASAI) with the visiting Russian academic Prof. Vladmir Kotsar, former Pro-Vice Chancellor of PFUR, who is the author of the film-project.
DAASAI was represented at the meeting by its President. Dr. Sankar Basu.
Prof. Vladimir Kotsar, accompanied by Md. Jamail Khan, News Anchor, Translator, Media Educator, Voice of Russia, will travel to different parts of the country in meetings Indian alumni of PFUR of the 70s and 80s. The objective of the film is to immortalize the professional achievements of Indian alumni in different fields such as medicine, engineering, tourism, industries, agriculture, etc. The film, once finished, will be preserved in the museum of PFUR and screened for the benefit of future students doing their preparatory course.
Similar venture has already been carried out in Bangladesh. After completion of shooting in India, the team will proceed aimed at similar work in Nepal and Sri Lanka.
The RCSC representatives expressed gratitude to the Indian alumni for their assistance in organizing concert tours of Russian artists in India, as well as bringing out the Indian version of the Russian language text-book Way to Russia, to be released on September 17, 2012.
The Indian alumni were also briefed on the major events of the RCSC in September and October, 2012, with special emphasis on Days of Moscow in Delhi and the Exhibition of Painting Prince Alexei Saltykov and his Journeys Across India from the State Russian Museum (St. Petersburg).
